How to read a book (pdf). A piece I wrote for the April 1999 issue of Perspectives, a monthly publication of PBCC. A reflection upon how my understanding of teaching has been shaped by two episodes in Old Testament history: the finding of the Book of the Law during the reign of Josiah (2 Kings 22), and Ezra’s reading of the Book of the Law to the Israelites (Nehemiah 8-9).
